Piaget and Vygotsky have developed cognitive development theories that have influenced the way teachers teach social studies at different levels. Although both Piaget and Vygotsky believed learning is a function of cognitive development. Each has a different approach to how the process of knowledge acquisition occurs. The task is to compare and contrast, the cognitive development theories of Piaget and Vygotsky. Point out the similarities and differences in their perception of cognitive development.
